Patrick J. Eng Pat's
practice includes injury cases, the defense of clients with criminal
charges ranging from misdemeanors to capital murder cases, divorce
cases and civil litigation. He represents clients on a statewide level
in the municipal, state and federal courts. Pat served as a Corporal in the United
States Army from 1965 to 1969. While attending the University of
Missouri-Columbia, Pat received a Bachelor of Science in Business in
1968 and a Bachelor of Journalism in 1970. He received his law degree
from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1973. He is a longtime
Boone County resident and graduate of Hickman High School. He has
practiced law in Boone County since his graduation from law school. Pat is a member of the Boone County Bar
Assoc. and is currently the president-elect of that organization. He is
also a member of the Missouri Bar Assoc., the American Bar Assoc. and
the National Assoc. of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also serves as a
member of the Board of Directors of the Missouri Assoc. of Criminal
Defense Lawyers and is a recent past president of that distinguished
organization. Pat received the prestigious 2005 Charles Shaw Award for
Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
Matthew B. Woods Matt's
practice is highlighted by personal-injury litigation. He also
represents clients in workers' compensation, product liability, medical
malpractice cases and is well-versed in the areas of general business. Matt, born and
raised in Boone County, attended Rock Bridge High School and the
University of Missouri-Columbia where he obtained a B.S. in Business
Administration in 1984. He graduated from the University of Missouri
School of Law in Columbia in 1987. Licensed to
practice in Missouri and Kansas, Matt is a member of the Boone County
Bar Assoc., Missouri Bar Assoc., Kansas Bar Assoc., the American Bar
Assoc. and the Missouri Assoc. of Trial Attorneys. He has three
children.
Larry M. Woods Larry
has represented clients in education, banking, business and probate.
Larry still consults with Eng & Woods attorneys on all matters
relating to the firm and continues to handle probate matters including
estates, trusts and wills. Larry
graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia in
1953. He served as Boone County Prosecuting Attorney from 1958 to 1962.
He was a State Representative from 1962 to 1964 and was a member of the
Missouri Banking Board from 1969 to 1977. Larry
is a member of the Boone County Bar Association (past president) and
the Missouri Bar Assoc. He and his wife, Joan, have four grown
children. Larry's son Matt is a partner with the firm.
Douglas F. Pugh Doug
represents clients in family law matters, as well as all other fields
of criminal and civil litigation. He received his law degree from the
University of Missouri School of Law in 1993, and is also a graduate of
Hickman High School in Columbia and the University of Missouri School
of Journalism.
Doug joined Eng & Woods as an associate in
1994 after serving as an Administrative Judge for the State of
Missouri. He is a member of the Boone County Bar Assoc., Missouri Bar
Assoc. and the American Bar Assoc. Doug, his wife, the former Amy
Prather, and his two children are lifelong residents of Boone County.
Thad Mulholland Thad
received his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School
of Law in 1995. He received his B.A. in English with distinction from
the University of Iowa in 1992. Thad's areas of practice include
personal injury and workers' compensation, business law and general
civil litigation.
He is licensed to practice law in Missouri and
is a member of the American Bar, Missouri Bar and Boone County Bar
Associations. Thad, his wife, Pam, and their three children reside in
Columbia.
Jonathan D. McQuilkin Jonathan
represents clients in the areas of employment law, discrimination and
harassment cases. His areas of practice also include personal injury,
workers' compensation and general civil litigation.
Johnathan
was raised in Boone County and graduated from Rock Bridge High School.
He attended Columbia College and obtained a B.S. in Criminal Justice
Administration in 1994. He began working at Eng & Woods in 1996
while attending law school. He graduated from the University of
Missouri-Columbia in 1997 and became an associate attorney at Eng &
Woods, and became a partner in 2004. Jonathan is licensed to practice in Missouri. He is a member of the Missouri and Boone County Bar Associations.
